| The golden dome of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Dome of the Rock, seen through the massive 40-foot doorway entrance to the mosque grounds. The doors are located down a long indoor arcade filled with coffee stalls, smoking rooms, and spice shops. Entrance to the mosque grounds was closed to non-Muslims both times I tried to go in, turned away by soldiers blocking the top of the stairs.
