Shawar, an Arab bakery in the old city. All through the day, the air is full of the delicious smell of fresh baked breads, yeast cakes, sweet rolls, and powdered cookies stuffed with figs and nuts. The baker uses a long wooden paddle to slide the breads in and out of a roaring wood-burning oven.
