For some time ago the very idea of having the words of Jesus done this way has appealed my mind. Because I grew up in a Christian family (my grandfather) the vocabulary and the terminology was very familiar to me till these days.
But I must admit that sometimes I used to find myself not reaching the people or not conveying my thoughts to the people I used to talk or witness to. You have to know that in our society and culture the real Christian terminology and the meaning of those words sometimes is still hard job. Here in the Eastern part of Europe, especially in the former socialist countries, the Gospel was locked up. We are now trying to brake it up by literature, conversations, video tapes etc. But with those materials we just offered Christian literature (more closely, contending protestant terminology). That is ok, but still bringing closely the meaning of some expressions is a job still in process.
The book "THE WORDS" is something we needed and in our case I consider it just a book in God`s timing. Though a lot of young people here know English good enough to read, still conveying of thoughts of Jesus in our mother language brings them closer to the heart
I sincerely greet the vision of the people who are involved in this project and whose desire is to make the words of Jesus live, current and applicable for this age and not just a some religious read. Now that we live in the era of massive communications and for the first time in the history the Words of Jesus can be broadcasted all over the planet. I feel like being part of a prophecy.
So many nations or individuals can be reached be this means. Internet is the most powerful communication tool of this age and it should be used to the maximum for that purpose. May this kind of efforts be just a pure sarcasm to the individuals like Voltaire and similar who predicted that the Gospel will fade out. On the contrary, it is more present than ever!
