Jordan River
The Jordan River connects the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea. When Abraham
and Lot separated, Lot settled in the river's plains. Later, when the
Israelites began to conquer the promised land, they had to first cross
the Jordan River to enter the land. The river was at its flood stage,
but God held back the waters so they could cross. It was also in these
waters that John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ.
The Jordan River has been the boundary between Israel
and the nation of Jordan since 1967
