Martha
Martha wholeheartedly believed in Jesus Christ, who was a friend of her
family. Jesus wept when her brother, Lazarus, died-then Jesus raised him
from the dead. Martha's sister, Mary, loved to sit at Jesus' feet, soaking
up his teaching. But Martha had a different personality. With a servant's
heart and an eagerness to be hospitable, she had difficulty understanding
that the most important thing was to listen to Jesus-not to cook for him.
Martha easily became distracted by all she thought she needed to do, and
thus she forgot to sit still and listen.
Martha believed in and served Jesus Christ.
