Run
The German movie Run, Lola, Run depicts the fast-paced efforts of Lola, who has 20 minutes to cross Berlin and raise DM 100,000 before the mob snuffs out her boyfriend. Its is with similar intensity and determination that we are to live the Christian life. In the book of 1 Corinthians, Paul compares Christians to runners to illustrate the discipline necessary for both lifestyles. Christians need the strict training and instruction that comes from God's Word in order to navigate a hostile world and overcome selfish desires. Giving up is not an option-once we commit our lives to Christ, we have no choice but to run the race. Paul encourages us to finish strong lest we lost the prize of a crown in heaven (see crown).

Living for God is compared to running a race.

When we "run" the Christian life, God will guide our ways.

Like preparing for a race, we must use discipline to live godly lives. This includes running to the finish line, not giving up midway through the race.
