Tree
Redwoods are the word's tallest trees, ranging from 10 to 20 feet in diameter
and towering over 300 feet high. They can live to be 2000 years old! At
the very beginning of time, long before today's giant redwoods were seedlings,
there were two other kinds of powerful trees: the tree of life and the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God warned Adam and Eve not to
eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; if they did, they
would die. Deceived by Satan, they ate from it anyway, and they were sent
away from the Garden of Eden and the tree of life. Their one act of disobedience
plunged humankind into an existence of separation from God.
The
Bible begins and ends with gardens. In Eden, the tree of knowledge of
good and evil brought death. In the heavenly garden, the tree of life
will give healing to all people.
