Worship
Human beings are designed to worship. The soul craves someone or something to adore: the sports hero, the film celebrity, the musical entertainer, a philosophy or political party. Worship celebrates the worth of that which is worshiped. People are intrinsically motivated to worship what they value, honor and love.

True worship involves the whole being of the worshiper. The worshiper places the worshiped being or thing ahead of every other concern, including concern for self: That's why worship is a sacrifice (see Sacrifice). God calls us to worship him because he is the most worthy recipient of our adoration. Worship overflows from our loving relationship with our heavenly Father.

We are to worship only the Lord, for he alone is worthy. All other objects are substitutes and will disillusion us in time.
